Hello everyone!

Welcome to my website. My name is Saam and I’m a PhD candidate in materials science and engineering at the University of Minnesota. I am advised by professor Chris Leighton and my research involves the design of spintronic devices. From 2021-2023 I studied materials science at Columbia University, and from 2018-2021, mathematics at Colby College. Post-graduation, from 2023-2024, I worked at two small startups in the Boston area: VEIR and Metal Fuels. I’m most interested in the energy industry and the materials that make it possible, and recently have been more curious about the electrical and mechanical side of things.

My other interests include playing music, board games, video games, and cooking. I’ll be in Minneapolis for the foreseeable future, and I’m excited to explore my new city! If you have food recommendations please send them my way…
